Nilaya Hermitage – Goa
Nilaya in Sanskrit means abode in the blue: “heaven”. Nilaya Hermitage, Goa’s quiet boutique hotel nestles amidst nature in Arpora-Bardez inspired by Arabian nights and Moorish architecture. Surrounded by luscious foliage, wildlife and a breath taking view of the Arabian Sea. Shrouded in mystery, a dreamlike ambience infuses the resort set in 20 acres of parkland. Everything about Nilaya Hermitage is harmonious, including the way its name gently floats off the tongue! Nilaya has been and, is a destination for the elite and discreet traveller.
Gently curving walls hand cut from natural laterite stones and organically shaped free form structures, natural pathways that curve through thick foliage, embraces the 33 meter swimming pool that rises like a blue lagoon on the cliff edge.
Nilaya has 11 guest rooms and 2 beautifully designed tents, each of these uniquely designed and named after elements of nature . All rooms have Terrazzo flooring which is a subtle mixture of marble powder, natural pigments and marble chips. The king -size beds measure 8×7 feet and the size of the room is an average of minimum 600 square ft ( some suites are much bigger).
The decorative elements as well as the furniture are all individually handpicked by the owners and are mostly of Indian origin (lots of unique antique pieces)
Bathrooms are large but do not have tubs, with shower only. Most have a natural opening giving you a sense of Nature. All rooms are individually air-conditioned with super silent split units that can be remote controlled individually. Fresh bed-sheets and crisp bathrobes as well as towels every day. Turn-down service in the evenings.
