Indian Classics (Tour Code: IN/001) – We take you through the northern Indian classical cities showing you not only the people but also the wildlife and bird watching. You take a tour of best of the north, covering Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Khajuraho, Panna, Orchha, Agra, Bharatpur, Jaipur and Udaipur for 16/17 days.

Itinerary

Day 01  Arrival Day In Delhi

On arrival in Delhi, our representative will meet, assist and transfer you to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and day up to lunch at leisure. Post lunch you will be visiting Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk. Late evening back to the hotel, welcome dinner along with a briefing session at the hotel and overnight at hotel in Delhi.

Day 02  Delhi

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Post breakfast you will visit Qutub Minar, Humayun Tomb, India Gate and The Raj Ghat. Lunch can be had during your city tour at a local restaurant. Back to hotel by the dinner time. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.

Day 03  Delhi / Lucknow

Breakfast at hotel. Check out from the hotel and transfer to airport in time to connect morning flight to Lucknow ( 1 hrs). Arrive Lucknow and upon arrival you will be met, assisted and transfer to hotel. Check-in and day up to lunch at leisure. Post lunch you will be visiting British Monuments like La Martiniere, Residency, Bibiyapur Kothi. In the evening we will arrange an exclusive meeting with the erstwhile Royal of Lucknow over a specially arranged afternoon tea. Back to hotel and overnight at Hotel in Lucknow.

Day 04  Lucknow

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. This day you will visit Islamic Monuments like Asafi Imambada, Husainabad Imambada, Clock Tower and the colourful Dhobi Ghat. Evening enjoy a heritage walk through the old glittering bazaars of Lucknow. Back to hotel and overnight at hotel in Lucknow.

Day 05  Lucknow / Varanasi

Breakfast at hotel and post breakfast you will transferred to Lucknow train station in time to connect your train to Varanasi (5-6 hrs). Arrive Varanasi in the afternoon upon arrival you will be transfer to Hotel. Check in at the hotel. Later we take you for an evening aarti of the sacred river Ganges. Back to hotel and overnight at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 06  Varanasi

Breakfast will be served at the hotel, post breakfast we take a temple tour of Varanasi, visiting the Kashi Vishvanath Temple, Manas Temple, Bharat Mata Temple and The Banaras Hindu University. Post lunch you will visit Sarnath (10 kms) – a place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after enlightenment and revealed the eight fold path of the Buddhist doctrine. Back to hotel and overnight at hotel in Varanasi.

Day 07  Varanasi / Khajuraho

Pre-breakfast we visit the ghats of Varanasi, also take a sunrise boat cruise on the Ganges. Back to hotel for breakfast and post breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to airport to connect your flight to Khajuraho (45-60 min). Arrive Khajuraho by the afternoon and you will be transferred to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel in Khajuraho. Evening we take you for the light and sound show at the western group of temples. Also explore the market place outside this temple. You may also opt for an outside dinner at one of the restaurants here. Later back to hotel and overnight at the hotel in Khajuraho.

Day 08  Khajuraho

Breakfast at hotel. Post breakfast you will be visiting Khajuraho Temples. The eighty five temples were built in North Indian ‘Nagara’ style of architecture, though only twenty of them survived the rough times over long years of time since 10th-12th century. The two richer distinctive groups of temples are the Western and the Eastern group of temples. Back to hotel and Overnight in Khajuraho.

Day 09  Khajuraho – Panna – Khajuraho

Early morning drive to Panna (30 km / .5 hrs) to enjoy the morning safari at Panna National Park. Later breakfast and lunch will be served at Panna, as an option you may also visit Pandav Falls or just laze around at Panna to discover the many bounties of nature. Post lunch you explore the jungle on the elephant back, later drive back to Khajuraho for another night’s stay. Overnight at the hotel in Khajuraho.

Day 10  Khajuraho / Orchha / Agra

Early Breakfast at the hotel and post breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Orchha (200 kms / 4 hrs), You will be visiting Orchha which is known for its palaces and temples. Optional lunch at Orchha resort in Orchha. Post lunch you will be transfer to Jhansi Railway Station in time to connect late afternoon train to Agra( 4 hrs.). Arrive Agra in the late evening and you will be transfer to hotel. Check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Agra.

Day 11  Agra

Breakfast will be served in the morning. Post breakfast full day visit of Agra. We will visit Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal, a symbol of eternal love which was built by Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaj Mahal. Post lunch you may visit Fatehpur Sikri (40kms / 1 hr) which is famous for its medieval period monuments. Or as an option relax in your hotel and later in the evening you can enjoy a musical show “Mohabbat-e-Taj”. Back to hotel and overnight at the hotel in Agra.

Day 12  Agra / Bharatpur / Jaipur

Early Breakfast at hotel and post breakfast (or as an option carry packed breakfast) check-out and drive to Jaipur, en route visiting Bharatpur (60 km / 1.5 hrs from Agra) where you will enjoy bird watching tour at the National Park in the picturesque surrounding and chirping of birds ll around you. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (Keoladeo Ghana National Park) is famous as one of Asia’s finest birding areas, with over 380 resident and migrant species, including the Common, Demoiselle and the rare Siberian Cranes. It is also an excellent place to watch mammals like Golden Jackal, Striped Hyena, Fishing Cat, Jungle Cat, Nilgai, Sambar, Blackbuck and wild Boar. Enjoy your lunch here and post lunch we continue our drive to Jaipur (225 km / 5 hrs from Bharatpur). Arrive Jaipur by dinner and check-in and overnight at Hotel in Jaipur.

Day 13  Jaipur

Breakfast at the hotel. Post breakfast today visit Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Amer Fort. Later in the evening take a tour of the local bazaar and later back to hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Jaipur.

Day 14  Jaipur / Udaipur

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Post breakfast you will visit Jal Mahal, The City Palace, Jaigarh Fort. Back to hotel and check out from the hotel and transfer to airport in time to connect your evening flight to Udaipur (1 hr). Arrive Udaipur and you will be transferred to hotel. Overnight at hotel in Udaipur.

Day 15  Udaipur

After breakfast at the hotel, sightseeing of this regal city is in store for you. The highlights of the first half of the trip are rich collection of magnificent City Palace Museum, majestic Jagdish Temple and an elegant garden called Sahelion-Ki-Bari. Spend the afternoon at leisure, or may be just explore the colorful bazaars of the city. Evening cruise through the placid waters of Lake Pichola at sunset. Today’s Dinner is special as it will be served on your private boat. Back to hotel and overnight at the hotel in Udaipur.

Day 16  Udaipur / Delhi (or Mumbai) / Home

Breakfast at hotel and day up till your check-out at leisure. Check-out and transfer to airport in time to connect your flight to Delhi (1.5 hrs – As an alternate fly to Mumbai and fly out, or take two nights in Mumbai as an extension of this tour).
